Hello everyone and welcome to my page!
Here's a little about me!
At the age of 35, I decided to go back to school for Massage Therapy and I graduated in 2016. I am currently in good standings with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Previous to this, I have worked for most of my life in retirement and daycare settings, as well as 3 years in a factory.
I am trained in General Swedish Massage, which can aide in the treatment of headaches and migraines, trigger points, pain management, stress relief, postural imbalances, anxiety and depression symptoms, and much more. I have also completed a Cupping Massage and a Microcurrent Point Stimulation(MPS) Therapy course that I can incorporate into treatments to help eliminate myofascial restrictions and scar tissue throughout the body.
I feel that massage is one of the oldest therapies for a reason. For example, have you ever hit your elbow or knocked your shin? Besides a few select words, I bet your first reaction was to grab/rub the area to ease your pain, right? It's our bodies natural way to sooth and heal our pain through the simplicity of touch.
I believe that a relaxation based massage treatment allows our Parasympathetic Nervous System to engage, leaving us in a nice rest and digest state, which I have found to have the best therapeutic benefits by allowing our body, muscles and mind to relax and release the tensions we are holding. I like to create a calm and positive, non-rushed environment so I can take the time to educate my clients about their bodies and how they function, empowering YOU to be the most important key in your health care needs.
